1 Little Monkey

June 26th, 2006

So what do monkeys and me have in common?  We both like to climb and throw poop.  No one told me the view from the top of the dining room table was so excellent.  I will be climbing up there more often!  That’s right boys and girls, I’m a monkey.  Complete with bananas and all!  You name it, I climb it!  Mom can’t turn around and I’m on top of something.  I’m thinking we should install a jungle gym in the living room and return the leather furniture.  That’ll teach mom and dad to put off Ari-proofing the house!  What can I get into next?

So momma let me in the back yard yesterday, FINALLY!  She would let me get down and roam around, but every time I’d get out of arm’s reach Scout (my dog) would bug me to get back to mom.  I guess she didn’t want me getting into the piles of poop in the rear of the yard. Then she made me hang out in this gated area she made from those big gates in the house.  I guess it was ok, cuz I got to play with buckets of water and climb on my slide.  OOOOH more climbing!

I got to see the Maggster last Thursday.  We played in the sprinklers in Ithaca!  It was soooo much fun.  I loved dumping water on my head from my bucket.  Mag and I shared ducks.  She’s gonna be a big sister soon… hmmmm wonder if I’m ever gonna get a brother or sister?  Mom says that I can’t have one until I stop getting into everything.  That’s no fun, I want a brother or sister, then I have someone to blame it on!  The dog and cat don’t work anymore cuz they rat me out now!

Big ole 4th of July comin up… know what that means?  Ice cream, pool, and FIREWORKS!  Yeee haw!  Maybe this year we’ll actually get over to the fireworks instead of dodging the rain drops in the car!

Mom turns 30 in a couple of weeks, if I don’t give her a heart attack before then!  I just managed to topple her jewelry case on me this morning trying to climb it!  I’m ok though (sorry mom, couldn’t resist your new pearl earrings!).

I’m not allowed to sleep in anymore on Sundays on account of the fact that I like to take my poopie diaper off and paint with it.  I think that trick is getting a little old for the adults, although I think it’s quite entertaining to watch them squirm as I get dunked in the bathtub.

So the plan for this week is to deprive mom from as much sleep as possible while tearing apart the living room and skydiving from the entertainment center.  Check out the new pics of Maggie and I, as well as my adventures of climbing (see I’m Two). The awesomeness of this adventure gets better as time goes on… stick around folks- we’ll be back with more of Arianna’s Awesome Adventure after a word from our sponsors- Clorox Bleach and Parachutes R Us!

I love a parade!

June 13th, 2006

Oh finally we got some color back into the blog!  I thought we were living in the black and white world of the 90’s for a minute.  So my first official Colonial Days came and went (last year didn’t count cuz I couldn’t go to the carnival part as it was wicked hot).  It was a major blast!  There were three duck ponds and I got a prize every time, all I really wanted was the duck I picked but the weird guy with the crazy stash wouldn’t let me have it.  Can I just say sugar waffles are rockin!  Yummy, crunchy, sugary, fried goodness!  I got to see all the pretty princesses in their dresses and meet the Elmira Jackal (he’s the mascot for the regional AA hockey team).  The parade was very cool, however the parade of people behind us walking on the sidewalk was what caught my attention until the real parade started.  French fries and peanut butter for breakfast, yummy!  My favorite part of the parade was the bagpipes and the West High band of course.  All the bands were pretty good.  Daddy liked that Naples played Sweet Home Alabama!  I didn’t understandy why I couldn’t be in the parade with my cool wagon… I mean I could wave and look just as cute as Miss Colonial Days!

Because of all the excitement I haven’t found time to sleep.  So mom and dad are pulling the midnight oil out to burn while they figure out how to tire me out.  Good luck!  I hear I might get to sleep in my big girl bed tonight… let the fun begin.

I must send a major shout out to my gal Maggie up in Canada!  She had a wicked cool weekend on the horse (I am sooooooo jealous) and had a great time at Quiznos (Maggie doesn’t see the glory in food that I do, but we can help with that!).  Also shouts out to all the Angels who are under the weather… we’ll keep you in our thoughts.  And to the Angels growing by leaps and bounds… keep on keepin on!

So new things up and coming… check out our back yard as it transforms from jungle to garden goddess (I can’t wait to pick the flowers that mommy and nana planted!).  I’ve got a new cousin (not sure what his name is yet) from Auntie Tara and Uncle Jesse!  He was born on Jesse’s birthday, how cool!

Stay tuned for the adventures in the big girl bedroom.  Chaos alert!

Here Comes the Bride

June 1st, 2006

We were off to Cleveland last weekend to watch Lizzie and Ricky tie the knot.  This adventure started off a little slow as the temperature was on the rise.  As you may know I hate the heat and combine that with the humidity and you may as well call it a day.  Dad and I spent most of the wedding ceremony in the crying room so I could make noise and move around.  Mom says the ceremony was very nice and it was signed and spoken.  Lizzie’s dress was really pretty.  We learned a lot about sign language and ASL from Ricky and Lizzie and their friends.  We made pretty good friends with all the new people we met and learned to communicate fairly well in a short period of time.  Mom and dad are excited to learn more about ASL (duh I have been trying to get them to work on this for months!)  I got to meet auntie Melissa who is way cool and very pretty!  Her mom and dad and brothers were so nice to let us stay at their farm.  I even got to pet the alpacas and the cows!  The alpacas look like lamas with skater hair dos! (see the pictures under "Cleveland")

Last week also held some 1sts for me.  I went to my first 2300 degrees at Nana’s work.  There was a really awesome jazz band and another cool alternative band that I loved to listen and dance to.  I got crumbs all through the museum shop!  Good times!

But the biggest brag of the week!!!  I walked all the way around the family room at the school with my walker!  Of course I had to be bribed with goldfish crackers (quid pro quo right?).  All my friends at school were jumping with joy when momma came to pick me up.  She was so proud of me!  Now I have her scared that I’m going to get into a world of trouble with my newfound talents.  She’s even put up more gates in the house.  Little does she know, I’m finessing my climbing skills to scale those gates in a single swoop!

So coming up… Bubbe comes this weekend to visit and we are going to have a ball with Heather (My special teacher) and Lisa (my swim teacher) and then go to Rochacha to see my cousins.  Dad is going to watch the cool (and loud) race cars on Sunday.  Maybe I can drive a racecar someday?  That would be the coolest!

Maggster and her momma are coming next week.  I can’t wait to show her my cool digs.  We are going to go to the Parade and listent to all the bands and play with balloons, maybe go on a ride or two.  Yippeee.  Lots of exciting things to do.  Must go get ready…. peace!- Arianna
